Gabby received her BA in psychology and minor in neuroscience from Carleton College in Northfield Minnesota. After graduation, she returned to her home state of Iowa where she joined the Marcinkiewcz lab to study the effects of exposure to alcohol in adolescence on serotonin and microglial activation in the brain. She then became a graduate student in the Iowa MD/PhD program and has now rejoined the lab after completing her first three years of medical school. After graduation she is interested in pursuing a dual family med/psychiatry residency with a special emphasis in research. In her free time, she enjoys kickboxing, cuddling her cats, cooking with her partner, and playing Stardew Valley virtually with her college friends.
